There Will Come Soft Rains by Peter Cotter

Not much outside of the Royal Wedding going on, but here’s a brief antidote to TV coverage overload!

This animation is based on the short story of the same name by Ray Bradbury. It follows the day of an automated house as it goes about its daily chores. Despite the “intelligence” of the house it is unaware that the family that it so dutifully looks after are no longer there.

Bradbury is a hard writer to capture well visually, but I think you did it. This had me captivated. What prompted you to make the animation?

      Hi Charles,

I really appreciate your comments, but I think you should go to the source, Peter Cotter’s Vimeo page – http://vimeo.com/user515480 and leave a comment there. Someone who is a great fan of Bradbury passed the video on to me and I thought other people should really see it!

By the way, like your blog and was just listening to one of your group’s demos – great song (The Parting Song), so recommend other readers do the same!

      Cheers from Barcelona,
