Free and easy hotspots with wifi.com

Home page - BCN Search - Application download

Reliable wireless internet “hotspots” (connection points) are fast becoming a real necessity, as many of the exhibitors at this year’s Mobile World Congress here in Barcelona have shown. Although there are promises of a new, free network in the city, libraries are still the place of choice for many people who need a free connection.

WiFi.com uses the power of Google Maps to locate both free (orange) and commercial (blue) hotspots in the area you specify, whether it is a street, town or country. By clicking on the coloured icon, you can see more information about the location of the hotspot and get directions to it.

The site also has an application – only for Windows XP and Mac OSX at the moment – that you can download for your computer, with a mobile phone version coming soon.

Strange Random Internet Quote:

The Internet isn’t free. It just has an economy that makes no sense to capitalism – Brad Shapcott
