Innocents Day – the update

Well, it seems that the stories we mentioned the other day in the post about Holy Innocents’ Day were actually true. In fact, after a look around different sites today, none of the major (non-sporting) papers appears to have published an “inocentada”, at least not on the front page, which is strange.

However, La Gaceta made up in a way for this by announcing that the Equality Minister Bibiana Aído has taken down the Ladies and Gents sign from the Ministry toilets for being sexist …

In other news, Tom Cruise is planning to set up a new centre for Scientology in Cádiz and Burgos now has a new statue of one of its cavemen “ancestors” taking pride of place in the Plaza Mayor.

As usually happens, most of the remaining stories were to do with footballers retiring, moving to their arch-enemies or other headlines aimed at boiling the blood of the diehard fan.

Here’s the best summary, at msn.com

Strange Random Christmas Quote:

Do give books – religious or otherwise – for Christmas. They’re never fattening, seldom sinful, and permanently personal.” –  Lenore Hershey
